ABOUT the ENSEMBLE
New World Music made of scraps, orts, and imagination.
TELLTALE CROSSING electrifies with its fusion of eclectic musical influences and internationally acclaimed performers. Vocalists Cristi Catt and Daniela Tošić, founding members of famed early music ensemble, Tapestry (“an ensemble that plants haunting vibrations, old and new, in our ears,” Cleveland Plain Dealer), thread timeless melodies with the hypnotic avant-grooves of percussionist Taki Masuko of The Horse Flies (“a band that’s earned a buzz…swirling, addictive songs that blend tradition with invention,” Rolling Stone).
Telltale Crossing routinely collaborates with an extraordinary rotating cast of characters. The trio crafted their debut album, Door Ajar, with clawhammer banjo wizard Richie Stearns (The Horse Flies, Natalie Merchant, Richie and Rosie), bassist Corey DiMario (Crooked Still), and multi-instrumentalist Peter Dodge (The Horse Flies), among others. Door Ajar released worldwide December 4, 2020 via NativeWit Productions.

Soprano Cristi Catt has performed throughout the U.S., Europe, and South America as a soloist and with Tapestry. The L.A.Times declared Catt’s “stunning solo excursions” both “radiant and exciting, while The Boston Globe deemed her voice “bright and inviting,” She has recorded for Telarc International, Erato/ Time Warner German Label, MDG, and independent labels, and teaches at New England Conservatory and Berklee College of Music. cristicatt.com

Native of the former Yugoslavia, mezzo-soprano Daniela Tošić is a founding member of the acclaimed vocal ensemble Tapestry (Telarc International, MDG) with whom she tours throughout the US and abroad. The Boston Classical Review praised her “rich amber tone” while reviewer Liane Curtis “delighted” in her “burnished and warm sound.” In addition to performing with Ensemble P.A.N., Revels, BalMUS, Foundling, HourGlass and Blue Heron, she can be heard regularly with La Donna Musicale and Rumbarroco.
